Welcome to Brothers Rugby Union Club – Townsville, 2010.

People attending during the very popular home games this season would have no doubt noticed the new equipment being used and provided to every one.

This project was proudly funded by the Queensland Government's Gambling Community Benefit Fund. Without these Grant funds this project simply would not have happened and the State Governments generous contribution must be acknowledged. The equipment is a great asset for both the Senior and Junior Clubs and allows us to properly host Home Games that have been a real feature of the 2010 season. Prior to this there simply were not the necessary equipment or facilities to accommodate Home Games.

These monies helped purchase all of the major essential items needed to run a home game and provide the players, spectators and supporters with such a fun and successful rugby union experience as our home games have come to be known for.  The items purchased included all the tents, tables and chairs as well as an esky, BBQ, and a fridge.  The grant also provided for all of the medical equipment we require to ensure a responsible and safe game of rugby union ranging from the goal post and corner pads and protective covers to the stretcher and all of our first aid equipment and massage table.  The grant also helped finish off the new amenities that were built this year and helped remove some of the more unsafe concrete placements near the fields.  All of these items are invaluable to us as a club, the school and the rugby union community of TownsvilleWe thank the Queensland Government’s Gambling Community Benefits Fund for its support of Brothers Rugby here in Townsville.

Obviously there has also been great support and countless hours of work from many, many Old Boys, their Businesses and associates, Ignatius Park College and the respective Junior and Senior committees. These people have been previously recognised for their hard work and commitment to this project and there are too many to name here. However needless to say the Club will always be in their debt.

Please make sure you have look at these brand new facilities the next time you are there.
